Apple + DNS

This is a technical post. Recently Apple made changes to how their operating system (10.6) handles DNS queries. Basically, the quickest-responding DNS server is the one that gets the job. Essentially, DNS translates your request for a particular website to direct it to the right place.

Now lots of routers screw up here and break down, meaning that the Internet appears to be broken (as in, cannot find web site). Apple should intervene: Create their own DNS servers and whenever an iPad or iPhone or Mac is unable to reach the requested website, divert to Apple and allow their server to successfully route the request.

Honestly, as someone who fixes these things, it would fix at least one third of Internet problems.
